SEXting is a mash up of the words, sex and texting. It is mostly widely used by people ages 16-30 and it is becoming a part of the dating process. It today’s age most of the beginnings of a relationship happen via the internet or mobile phones. People spend more time connecting online then in actual face to face conversation and so it is easy to see why sexting has become so popular.
When two people “sext”, they are sending each other explicit texts about their fantasies or what they like in the bedroom. These texts are sometimes accompanied by explicit pictures which most people regret taking and sending soon afterwards. 23% of teenagers say they have been involved in sexting and 20% have admitted to sending nude pictures via mobile phone.
One should be very careful with whom they share explicit thoughts with and even more careful with whom they send naked pictures too. Can you really trust the person? You never know when the relationship will turn sour and he or she may be feeling hurt or vengeful and may show the pictures or texts to their friends or even worse, post them online. You should also never feel pressured into sending suggestive texts or pictures.
SEXting could be a fun thing to do if you are in a committed relationship, of age and can 100% trust that the person won’t leak your “sexts” or pictures online. BUT that is not usually the case ever… every phone call, image, text, message is saved somewhere online!
“Just don’t Do IT” you’ll never have to worry about after the relationship is over weather it has be 20 years or spouses or boy & girlfriends we do stuff you would never expect, we have help this same type of problem several times!!
What is the # 1 Danger for Children online?
It’s my belief that we are all born with our innocence intact, and as we grow up and become an adult, we lose little pieces of our innocence along the way, that’s just life.
But, it should never be someone else’s decision, especially predators or pedophiles or even a pornographer/webmaster, who thinks they have the right to take it away, with each Cybercrime they commit!
Please don’t let your children ruin their lives forever! Once a child losses his or her Innocence…it’s gone!
- Sexting is the act of sending sexually explicit messages or photographs, primarily between mobile phones. The term was first popularized in early 21st century, and is a portmanteau of sex and texting, where the latter is meant in the wide sense of sending a text possibly with images.
- The first known published mention of the term sexting was in a 2005 article in the Sunday Telegraph Magazine. Sexting has since been described as taking place in the UK, Australia, the United States, and Canada.
- In a 2008 survey of 1,280 teenagers and young adults of both sexes on Cosmogirl.com sponsored by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, 20% of teens (13-20) and 33% of young adults (20-26) had sent nude or semi-nude photographs of themselves electronically.
- Additionally, 39% of teens and 59% of young adults had sent sexually explicit text messages. A sociologist at Colorado College interviewed 80 students and believes this claim is overblown; she claims “I had them go through their last ten messages, their last ten photos and I never saw it.” Read The Rest
