Former “Happy Days” star Scott Baio and wife Renee sat down with ET in a new interview to open up on the details of dealing with Renee’s brain cancer. The couple also revealed how their faith has kept them strong throughout the battle according to a September 29 report from Fox.
As previously reported, Renee Baio was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor. Scott Baio asked for prayers and positive thoughts during this difficult time. “My wife is my rock. She refuses to shed even one tear, nor will she question God’s will. Renee, Bailey and I will get through this, and along the way maybe help educate others facing similar medical issues.”
Scott Baio and his wife Renee opened up during the interview about Renee’s courageous health battle, and the unexpected ways that it’s inspired them. Renee’s diagnosis has presented the family with many issues to worry about, but Scott and Renee reveal that their family is facing the fear with faith. “I will tell you my faith in God is greater than the fear of the unknown,” Renee said. Renee detailed how her diagnosis followed an intense bout with migraines.
Scott stated that after the doctors had delivered the diagnosis he was forced to begin thinking what he would do without Renee, and raising the couple’s 7-year-old daughter Bailey alone. “It was all about our kid,” Scott said. “I would’ve been devastated for our daughter, because she’s everything to us, so that would’ve crushed her.”
The brain cancer diagnosis has not been Renee’s only life threatening health battle. Five years ago Renee was also forced to fight breast cancer after doctors had revealed she was in the early stages of breast cancer. The Baio’s said before delivering the news to their young daughter Bailey, Scott put his head on my shoulder in the kitchen, and he wept. Scott said that he derives much of his strength from Renee. “I’m tough in a different way,” Scott said. “She’s life tough.”
