They say, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” According to U.S. News on Monday, that is certainly true about a picture Donnie Walters took on Nov. 25 of his six-month-old son sleeping with Santa. Zeke got tired and fell asleep while waiting in line to see Santa at a shopping mall in Evansville, Indiana. When it was Zeke’s turn, Santa told his father not to wake him. Santa posed for the photo by leaning back in the big green chair with Zeke resting in his left arm and a copy of “The Night Before Christmas” falling from his right hand. The photo looks like both of them were sleeping, but Zeke was the only one getting his forty winks.
KFOR reported that Walters posted the photos of the sleeping pair on his Donnie’s Daddy Daycare Facebook page the following day. The photos have been liked more than 406,000 times and shared more than 216,000 times. Walters commented, “I can’t believe how adorable our son’s pictures with Santa came out. After falling asleep in line waiting, Santa asked us not to wake him and the outcome was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.”
It is a holiday tradition for kids to take photos with Santa Claus. They sit in his lap and tell him what they want for Christmas. Parents stand in long lines with their children to get the perfect picture with Santa to display during the holiday and to show the children when they are older. Needless to say, Zeke will definitely enjoy seeing his photo with him and Santa sleeping since he slept through the visit.
