Salma Hayek rocked her voluptuous curves at the Los Angeles screening of the animated film “Kahlil Gibran’s the Prophet.” Hayek dazzled the red carpet in a body-hugging black halter dress that flattered her yoga-toned physique.
Salma slammed Republic presidential candidate Donald Trump shortly before the screening, saying she “refuses to say his name.” “He would say anything to attract attention and create the publicity,” said Hayek.
Salma, 49, has credited a portion-controlled diet, Paleo bone broth and restorative yoga workouts for her age-defying beauty. Hayek hates rigorous exercise and prefers restorative yoga, a gentle form of yoga that uses props to promote mindfulness and relaxation.
I don’t have time to exercise.
I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long, so even when you brush your teeth, you’re working the muscles. It’s restorative yoga.”
Hayek said restorative yoga is low-impact, helps relieve stress and improves your sleep. “She taught me to tone [my muscles] without clenching them,” said Salma. “You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension. If you’re aware of your body, you’d be surprised by the effect it can have.”
Hayek, who gained 50 pounds while pregnant, said portion control is her diet secret, Celebrity Health & Fitness reported. “I’m not a skinny girl,” said Hayek. “I’m at the limit of chubbiness at all times, but I’m happy. Everybody has a weakness and mine is food.”
Salma added: “I begin [my day] with coffee. Not the greatest, but that’s what I do. And sometimes I like Yerba Mate tea when I run out of juice, and I love eggs. Boiled eggs, poached eggs.”
Hayek also eats plenty of healthy fat such as Paleo-style bone broth.
I embrace [dietary] fat, the good fat. This is very important. And I make a bone broth you can look up on the Internet. It’s very good for your health and it’s full of collagen. When you drink it, it’s like fat.”
Hayek weighs herself every day and adjusts her diet when her weight reaches an “alarm number.” “When you get to that number, you have to start putting it in reverse,” she said.
Salma, who recently released her own skincare line, said her anti-aging beauty secrets include washing her face before bed and daily moisturizer. Hayek isn’t a fan of plastic surgery, and insists she has never gotten Botox injections or fillers.
Hayek’s beauty secrets include a rejuvenating lotion for burn victims that heals your skin. “I use an ingredient called Tepezcohuite that’s used in Mexico for burn victims because it completely regenerates the skin,” she said.
Salma has been married to French billionaire François-Henri Pinault since 2009. The couple has one daughter, Valentina, who was born in 2007.
