It’s a bit hard to feel sorry for Robert Pattinson as he whines about the price he paid for fame during his “Twilight” saga years. Pattinson offers to share one of his hardships, which was not being able to go to a grocery store for about six-years. This drove him “crazy,” is actually how he put it. Pattinson was not able to take in all the joys of grocery shopping, but it is not as if he didn’t have food to eat, he just couldn’t cruise the aisles without being swamped by fans.
Does he realize there are folks out there with hungry families to feed who also can’t go to the grocery store? Their only obstacle is money. Many people don’t have the funds to eat today, which is something he isn’t lacking from that awful fame. Granted, it had to be somewhat of a culture shock when he seemingly came out of nowhere and became an overnight phenomenon. His gripe was that he had fans and paparazzi shadowing his every move, but there’s a lot of worse things in life than being recognized.
According to People Magazine on September 24, Pattinson can now go to the store and chat with the people working there about their families and their kids, which is a nice change for him he conveys. When “Twilight” fame was in its infancy, Pattinson said, “I had people sitting outside my house every single day, and it drove me crazy.”
He is sounding more and more like a victim of the “Twilight” saga rather than crediting the vampire life at giving him his big break in Hollywood. He also offers up a bizarre scenario of the worst place to get caught in a picture when talking about the invasive behaviors of the paparazzi. Pattinson said that “the most embarrassing photo that can ever be taken of you is when you’re in a bookshop, and everyone can see what book you’re buying.” He then says; “They might as well just take a picture of me having a wank.” according to Digital Spy.
No one is going to welcome a lack of privacy at that level, but in exchange he is now one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood, not to mention very wealthy. He is currently filming in Northern Ireland with “Sons of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam and Sienna Miller in a film produced by Brad Pitt called “The Lost City of Z.”
The “Twilight” fans were intense and since they’ve backed down he is finding life a bit more tolerable when it comes to fame. His “Twilight” romance bit the dust with Kristen Stewart, and that may have something to do with the masses quieting down. Today the new love of his life is singer FKA Twigs, the woman who he is engaged to.
This romance “has led to racial trolling from the fringes of his fan base,” reports People. His new lady is “just an amazing, amazing artist,” Pattinson said. Twigs recently said in an interview that she is “shocked and disgusted by the abuse” when talking about the racial comments online. Pattinson is “equally upset.”
