If The Internship taught us anything, it’s that guys have it rough out there in the workforce, especially when they’re just starting out. Oh wait, it didn’t teach us that at all. It showed us how easy it is to basically fail upwards. Nancy Meyers’ latest comedy, The Intern, stars Robert De Niro as a man who is also entering the workforce and finding it’s a young man’s game, but at least he’s taking orders from Anne Hathaway so it’s not all bad.
The first trailer for The Intern has been released and for a hint of what to expect, just know there’s erection humor. Which is even “funnier” because De Niro’s old, y’see. He plays a 70-year-old widower who becomes the senior intern at a hip fashion company run by Hathaway’s character, who apparently has had no experience with older people ever in her life. That’s okay because he doesn’t understand the Internet. Because he’s old.
Also starring Adam Devine, Nat Wolff, and Rene Russo, The Intern opens on September 25th, but it looks like it should have come out two months ago.
