RadarOnline reported a little earlier that Ramona Singer, one of the original Real Housewives of New York City, has given in to Bravo’s paltry offer of a day rate per scenes filmed. Singer was holding out, along with Countess LuAnn de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan, for a paycheck that came closer to that of Bethanny Frankel’s, which is reportedly close to the $ 1 million mark. As of this writing, de Lesseps and Morgan have yet to agree to an offer from Bravo and have not started filming new scenes for the popular Bravo reality show. The contract snafu has not kept de Lesseps from enjoying the nightly scene in New York City; she has been photographed on multiple step and repeats all week, including Andrea Fascinetto’s SS16 Fashion Show at the Gansevoort Park Hotel on Monday night. And on October 16th she launched her new jewelry collections on the home shopping network, EvineLive.
The four new jewelry lines, “Gotham”, “Western Chic”, “St. Tropez” and “The Hamptons”, join the fashion line de Lesseps launched last year. The fashions were inspired by a desire to create luxury pieces at affordable price points, and all are fabricated in the United States, a fact de Lesseps is proud of. The Countess Collection jewelry lines are all priced under $60, and are also made exclusively in the US. The jewelry is designed to make a statement; the cuffs are bold and striking, necklaces and chokers layer on the throat in cascades of sparkly bling and the earrings are from the school of red carpet chic. Everything is created to conjure the image of the glamorous jet set lifestyle.
The Countess has not let her troubles with contract negotiations slow down her forays into multiple ventures. She is also filming a new video to accompany the release of her song, “Girl Code”, which she debuted on Watch What Happens Live (WWHL Clubhouse) back in June. In person de Lesseps is warm and jovial, despite a height that puts her firmly in the class of Amazon babe. She is imposing at first, when she leans in to share her stories about her travels and the inspirations behind her fashion and jewelry designs, but one is immediately put at ease by her humor and conversational candor. She is effusive, particularly when discussing how important it is to her to provide an outlet for women of all income levels access to the type of fantasy jewelry and fashions she provides through her Countess Collection.
At a recent preview of the line at a showroom on 5th Avenue in Midtown, de Lesseps was keen to hear the different reactions to the four collections. She divulged that her particular favorite was the “Western Chic” line, as turquoise is her favorite stone, but she agreed that the “Gotham” collection was pretty fabulous for New York City women, and laughed heartily when it was suggested that the actresses on the hit FOX show “Gotham” should wear pieces from the line.
The Countess’ jet set lifestyle sees her having access to the trends and styles of global cultures, and ideas for pieces come to her at all hours of the day. The ease of transition from day to evening is important to de Lesseps, as she often has to rush from a business meeting straight off to a red carpet event, and she recognizes that many women deal with similar demands, whatever profession demands their time. Affordable luxury that women can enjoy for many years is the guiding principle behind de Lesseps’ fashion and jewelry lines.
