Having a dingy look to teeth can make many feel self-conscious – myself included. It’s hard to feel your best when you’re constantly and subtly trying to cover your mouth with your hand while you laugh or you’re always smiling with a closed mouth simply because you’re uncomfortable with the discoloration of your teeth.
After hearing about the Colgate Optic White Toothbrush + Built-in Whitening Pen, it couldn’t hurt to give it a try, especially since it has the promise of “whiter teeth in 2 days.” The holiday season is fast approaching, and I don’t know know about you, but I’d rather not go through it having to cover my smile. By the way, the blah look to my teeth was courtesy of constant tea drinking plus a couple of iced coffees a week. I’ve tried many whitening products in the past, and frankly, there are some that take too long to work, they don’t deliver great results, they taste like garbage, they make my teeth or gums hurt, and/or they’re too expensive, etc.
With that said, there was a little personal skepticism going into trying the Colgate Optic White Toothbrush + Built-in Whitening Pen. Just two days for a change? Really? Okay then, let’s do this.
To use, brush your teeth using the included toothbrush and whatever toothpaste you want. Once you’re done, use the whitening pen on your teeth, then stick the pen in the bottom of the toothbrush and you’re good to go. The process is supposed to be done twice a day.
While trying the Colgate Optic White Toothbrush + Built-in Whitening Pen, I went about my normal routine, which involved drinking way too much tea, having the occasional iced coffee, flossing, and brushing twice a day. There was also some wine, cranberry sauce, and beets.
After two days, I was surprised to actually notice a difference. Okay not bad, let’s keep going. Four days later, the difference was even more noticeable, and other people took note as well. As someone who typically hates showing my teeth in pictures, I didn’t mind once they were whiter.
Also, the Colgate Optic White Toothbrush + Built-in Whitening Pen was super easy to use. Just twist the bottom of the whitening pen twice and it will be enough material to spread on your teeth. I made the mistake of twisting it three times the first time I used it and it was too much. Surprisingly, it doesn’t taste horrible and it’s not goopy. The product went on easy, took seconds to apply to all the teeth, and it did the job it was supposed to.
It didn’t bother the gums or cause teeth sensitivity. However, it did dry my lips out a little when some product got on them, but I got into the habit of applying chapstick after using it anyway and it was perfectly fine.
Having whiter teeth makes me feel more confident and willing to smile more, so this product is a great option to have on hand. Considering the Colgate Optic White Toothbrush + Built-in Whitening Pen is less than $16 depending on what store you go to, it’s a budget-friendly and worthwhile product that’s definitely worth using.
