Today pet-lovers and animal welfare organizations worldwide will gather together for the Remember Me Thursday® candle-lighting ceremony honoring orphan pets. According to its website, this event is held on the exact same day all over the globe. The website also states the purpose of this campaign is to honor the millions of abandoned pets who are euthanized daily, and to recognize all the healthy pets who are still without forever homes. Remember Me Thursday® invites all animal-loving individuals to take part in the Remember Me Thursday movement by lighting a candle today, no matter where you are, and encourage others to adopt homeless pets and reduce the upsetting amount of euthanized animals.
Several locations are putting together events in their cities, such as New York City. For Animals, Inc. is taking part in Remember Me Thursday outside of NYC Pet, 218 5th Ave (between Union and President) in Brooklyn, N.Y. 11215. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. For Animals, Inc. will provide candles and raffle some great prizes. All proceeds will support the cats at For Animals, Inc. If you’d like to participate but don’t live in NYC, easily find a location near you by clicking here.
The 2015 Official Spokesperson of Remember Me Thursday is Carrie Ann Inaba, who is best known for her role as a judge on “Dancing With The Stars”. According to the Remember Me Thursday website, “Inaba’s great love of animals inspired her to found the charitable organization THE ANIMAL PROJECT FOUNDATION (formally known as The CAI Animal Project). The APF works towards making the world a better place for animals in need by providing emergency rescue funding, and sponsors The LA Spay Neuter Fest, an outdoor community event that provides Free Spay/ Neuter and other medical services to underserved communities as well as animal welfare education in a fun family and furry friendly atmosphere. Carrie Ann currently resides with her boyfriend and her 3 dogs and 2 cats, Peanut, Buddy, Lola, Blizzard and Mimi, all of whom are rescues and who she says in return have rescued her.”
Please watch Carrie Ann’s Remember Me Thursday message and share it with your family, friends, and social media pages. Be sure to use the #LightForPets hashtag on social media when talking about the event. This will help spread the word! Read more about Remember Me Thursday by visiting the website.

We must always remember those animals who never got a second chance at life and have crossed the rainbow bridge. They’ll always remain in our hearts. Animal lovers and animal welfare organizations are doing all they can every single day to stop the euthanasia of healthy pets.
