Hillary Clinton is a criminal. The State Department recently released 3000 of Hillary Clinton’s emails that were received, stored, composed and sent using her personal server in her home. On July 1st the State Department released 3000 pages of those emails. The problem is that many of these emails were heavily redacted by the State Department citing a “national security exemption.” Meaning, they contain classified or at least sensitive national security information.
For Hillary Clinton to use her private email to receive, send, compose or store any classified or sensitive material is a federal crime. The State Department’s redaction is an admission that a crime has been committed. Hillary Clinton broke the law. Hillary Clinton is a criminal.
On 23 April 2015 General Petraeus was convicted for having classified material in his home and received 2 years probation and a $100,000 fine. Hillary’s crimes are worse as they were on-going since 2009 and continued throughout her tenure as Secretary of State. She was also in possession of potentially thousands of pieces of classified material and possibly exposed that classified material to compromise.
This also calls into question the 30,000 emails she admitted to deleting because she said they were “exclusively personal.” According to federal law, any messages or correspondence sent in her role as Secretary of State are the property of the Department of State. Also, given that there is an on-going Congressional investigation into Hillary’s use of a private server, the act of her deleting any emails should be construed as destruction of evidence and obstruction. Both of these acts are also crimes.
So why isn’t she being prosecuted?
The Republican controlled House of Representatives Select Committee on Benghazi is conducting an investigation that includes Hillary’s use of private emails. But, that investigation’s scope is limited to the Benghazi scandal and any emails regarding that fiasco in which four Americans were killed. On 15 March 2015 Speaker of the House John Boehner announced that he was going to begin a separate investigation into the Clinton email issue, but that never materialized. This despite the fact that it is now known that the White House knew since 2009 that Hillary was illegally using a private email server and not the State Department server as required by law. With the State Department’s recent redaction to protect classified material, it all points to a possible widespread cover-up to protect the apparent Democratic nominee for president in 2016.
And that is why the Republicans are not prosecuting Clinton. If Hillary is the Democratic nominee for president the GOP is holding all of the information on the Clinton scandals, and there have been many, to use against her in the general campaign.
It seems that she would be a far less attractive candidate and easier to beat if she were in prison where she belongs.
