The humble hot water bottle has now evolved into a technological marvel that provides soothing heat and unexpected convenience. Forget about getting up to refill your old water bottle with hot water every hour to soothe aches and pains or warm your hands on a cold Winter day. The Rechargeable Electric Hot Water Bottle revolutionizes the process and eliminates the need to refill the bottle. Instead, you just connect a cable to re-heat the bottle as needed. It’s simple and a whole lot more convenient than having to get up and trudge to a sink and wait for the tap water to get hot enough before you fill up the bottle. You will never do that again.
Your new Rechargeable Electric Hot Water Bottle (REHWB) comes with a little instruction sheet with tiny pictures and instructions in Chinese. Don’t panic. It’s not rocket science. The process can be a bit messy but it’s pretty easy to fill the hot water bottle for your first use. First of all you will need a clean 1-Liter water bottle. Set aside the screw cap. Fill that bottle with water. Your Electric Hot Water Bottle will come with a funnel shaped adapter and a small rubbery plug which floating around in the bottom of the bag. Find that plug before you get started.
When you have all your equipment assembled, I recommend working over a sink where any escaping water won’t cause a problem. Take the funnel shaped adapter and screw it onto your 1-Liter bottle of water. Now insert the tip of the adapter into the small opening on the REHWB while gently pulling the sides of the hot water bottle apart to allow the water to enter the reservoir more easily. My Rechargeable Electric Hot Water Bottle took the full contents of the 1-Liter bottle without spilling more than a couple of drops until I realized that I hadn’t gotten the plug out of the package. After I found the plug, mopped up and added more water, the plug was inserted and disaster was averted. If you find the plug first, you can avoid this little side trip.
So now you have a filled Rechargeable Electric Hot Water Bottle and you need to attach the cable to the 3-prong plug which can be found beneath the round swivel cover on the bottom of the REHWB. Plug the regular plug into a power strip or wall outlet. The LED light on the cable will be red while the heating is in progress. Depending upon how warm you want the REHWB to be, it might be hot enough to use after 10 to 15 minutes. I prefer it to be hot which required leaving the cable attached for 25 minutes at which time, the red light turns off with an audible click and it stops heating. I never saw the yellow light mentioned in the product description.
My first use of the REHWB was to put it on my knee when I went to bed. I tucked the bed sheet around it to hold it in place and went to sleep with soothing heat around my knee. When I awoke the next morning, the REHWB was still on my knee and was still warm to the touch. A regular hot water bottle would have been ice cold after all that time. I have been using the REHWB for about a week and charging is consistent and reliable every time. It is well made with a soft fleecy covering which is comfortable against the skin and eliminates the need to wrap the bottle in a towel before application to the affected area. One side of the water bottle has a sleeve, in the same fleecy material, that is large enough to insert both hands for warming. With arthritis in both hands, the warmth is very appealing as we head into the cold Winter months. This would be a great gift idea for anyone with arthritis or habitually cold hands.
The Rechargeable Electric Hot Water Bottle is very well made and seems to be durable for normal daily use. The plug in the water reservoir has stayed firmly in place through all my testing. The product information on Amazon shows images of a car being driven over the product without damage. This is impressive but I lacked the courage to perform that test myself because I really like this product and didn’t want to take the slightest chance of destroying it. UthCracy sells the Rechargeable Electric Hot Water Bottle on Amazon for $22.98 with listed color options of either Red or Black. I received the Red option which is more of a bright pink and looks just like the image online. The image shown for the Black is more of a deep blue. I received this product for my honest review which I have provided here.
