Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston, having explored Shakespeare and the ultimate gamble in previous summer musicals this year, close their summer season with the Tony-award winning musical, ‘Wonderful Town’ about sisters in the city.
Starting the summer season in June with the slick romantic comedy musical, ‘Guys and Dolls,’ audiences watched New York City gambler Sky Masterson, played by Brett Barrett, agree to the gamble of his life by taking a Salvation Army girl, portrayed by Mara Bonde, on a date in order to finance the ultimate New York City crap game.
With classic songs like ‘Luck Be a Lady,’ ‘A Bushel and a Peck,’ and ‘Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,’ the Pulitzer prize-winning ‘Guys and Dolls’ is a fast-paced hustle and has been a hit with audiences since it first debuted in 1950.
In July, Reagle Music Theatre presented Tony award-winning musical within a musical, ‘Kiss Me Kate!’ Wild drama ensues backstage during an adaptation of ‘Taming of the Shrew!’ ‘Kiss Me Kate’ is a fiery romantic musical comedy featuring memorable songs such as ‘Too Darn Hot,’ ‘So in Love,’ ‘Why Can’t You Behave’ and starring Broadway star Sarah Pfisterer as Katherine.
From a small town to the big city, the Tony award-winning Leonard Bernstein musical, ‘Wonderful Town’ follows two very different sisters who try to make it big in New York City! In August, regional performers Katie Anne Clark and Jennifer Ellis star in ‘Wonderful Town’ based on the autobiographical book, ‘My Sister Eileen’ by Ruth McKenney.
‘Wonderful Town’ debuts Thursday, August 6 for two weekends through Sunday, August 16.
Performances will be held at the Robinson Theatre, 617 Lexington Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. Call 1-781-891-5600, click here for tickets, or email firstname.lastname@example.org for tickets!
