Way to go Rachel Platten! The singer/songwriter brought down the house at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards with a beautiful rendition of her hit “Fight Song.”
Rachel Platten is a superstar! She performed an emotional rendition of her hit single “Fight Song” at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards on August 16 and it did not disappoint. Platten took the stage elegantly playing the piano, with only the melody and her incredible voice on display. While the hoards of fans were singing along, Rachel had a slideshow of teens who are helping the world above her. But with a song like “Fight Song,” you just cannot just sit there. Rachel got up from her seat, despite her leg injury and belted out the rest of the hit on center stage while pumping her fist in the air.
At the conclusion of the inspiring performance, Platten invited up several teen activists to the stage who held up signs, expressing what they’re fighting for: things like human rights, LGBT acceptance, and conservation, It’s pretty amazing to see what these teenagers are doing at a young age, and exemplary that Rachel put the spotlight on them during their own time. She’s such an inspiring woman.
The star has been on the music radar ever since “Fight Song” was played during an episode of Pretty Little Liars. The song was also featured in a commercial for the upcoming TV series Supergirl. What a suitable outlet for the songstress to be featured-she’s truly thankful for what has come for her too! When “Fight Song” first made its debut, Platten warmly posted on Facebook, thanking her fans for all the support as the song became really popular: “To every single person that’s ever believed in me, to every mile that I’ve driven across the country, you made this moment that much sweeter. Proud to have just signed to Columbia Records. Time to spread the love,” Rachel posted. Calm and humble. It’s nice to have musicians that are truly appreciative of their fans. Never change Rachel!
Rachel was nominated under Choice Summer Song for “Fight Song” but that went to Fifth Harmony for their song “Worth It” featuring Kid Ink. No hard feelings here, as Rachel tweeted after the award show: “Oh hey @FifthHarmony!! I love you guys- congrats on all your incredible success and thanks for dancing and singing along with me.” Fifth Harmony then replied “We love you girl! You killed it tonight.” Hey maybe we can hope for a Rachel Platten and Fifth Harmony collaboration? Totally would not mind that one. They can come up with an inspiring hit song.
After her moving Teen Choice Awards performance, it’s obvious that Rachel’s star is going to shine brighter and brighter as the years go on. What a marvelous talent and extraordinary performance! It’s easy to say we won’t forget Platten and what those teens are fighting for, for years to come. Congratulations on all the success Rachel!
