A disturbing discovery was made alongside a Youngstown, Ohio road when a passersby found a plastic bag filled with newborn puppies, according to WFMJ. Inside of the tied-up bag were a dozen pit bull puppies with umbilical cords still attached.
Two women passing by on the Ohio road spotted the plastic bag when one of them heard what she thought was crying kittens. The tiny sounds were coming from a closed plastic bag. After investigating, the women found the newborn pit bull puppies, who were left to die inside the plastic bag. They contacted the police immediately. Animal control showed up to take the puppies.
The newborn pit bull puppies were brought to the Mahoning County Dog Pound where, unfortunately, two of the puppies passed away. The remaining ten newborn puppies were brought to an animal rescue group in the Cleveland area. The newborns are currently being cared for by a surrogate mother dog.
The investigation is ongoing.
