Provision Theater Company is hosting an initiative to help the needy in Chicago this holiday season. An announcement was made by Timothy Gregory, Provision’s Artistic Director that Provision will partner with Pacific Garden Mission as a collection site for a winter coat drive. New and gently used coats, as well as hats and gloves, can be dropped off during the run of Provision Theater Company’s Theater for Young Audiences production of ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!’ through December 20.
In addition to the coat drive efforts, Provision will also offer complimentary tickets to Best Christmas Pageant Ever to homeless men, women and children from Pacific Garden Mission.
“Provision Theater’s emphasis on telling stories where values matter are important stories for the folks at the mission to see,” says Provision’s Artistic Director Timothy Gregory.
“The holidays can be a hard time for the homeless,” says Gregory. “Making them feel even more lost or alone. Provision Theater offering complimentary tickets to Best Christmas Pageant Ever to some of the women and children in the mission makes for a warm holiday gift. One they will not soon forget.”
The donated winter coats benefit at-risk men, women, and children in our area. Items will be collected in the main lobby at Provision Theater Company, 1001 W. Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL 60608.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! is a sixty minute, family-friendly adaptation of Barbara Robinson’s classic that will run November 28 – December 20 with performances on Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. at Provision Theater. Special 10:00 a.m. performances will be held on December 2, 9, and 16.
Ticket prices for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! are $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 & under. Free parking is included, and groups of 10 or more receive 10% off.
