Forecast discussion: We have been seeing the relative humidity increase over the last 24 hours, as dewpoint temperatures have reached the middle 60’s. This will create very warm temperatures this evening, and patchy fog is possible by the morning commute. A weak warm front to our south may help create isolated showers by tomorrow morning, with more scattered activity by the afternoon. Some areas may see an isolated thunderstorm as well, but the precipitation itself will be hit and miss. I think the best chance for more widespread precipitation will be Wednesday, as a cold front from Michigan into northern Arkansas will be approaching New England.
The cold front will move offshore by Wednesday evening, and there is the risk for a passing shower into Thursday morning. By Thursday afternoon, high pressure over the Rockies will bring us some partial sunshine, but the extra moisture in the atmosphere will not leave us until Saturday.
As we head into next week, a new cold front will slowly move its way towards New England. An area of low pressure will stall over the Mid-Atlantic States, and will bring some heavier precipitation Sunday night into Monday. The American model continues to show this low stalled to our west, so we may be seeing precipitation right into the middle of next week. However, my confidence in this scenario is low, as this is still seven to eight days out into the future.
