It was a cool crisp evening in St. Louis, when then talented group of Hoodlink’d Familia Entertainment hit the stage downtown at Marcel’s Restaurant and Bar at Laclede’s Landing. The group of Spanish origins, is managed by Manny Silva, and consist of more than just caliente sounds. They have merchandises, make beats, records and graphics for other artists in the St. Louis’ metro area.
You will also find them working diligently on social networking, letting people know how hot hey are, and how far they want to go. Hoodlink’d is up for several awards, nominated in two different up and coming awards shows in St. Louis. So, sit back and enjoy an up and close interview with the founder and the man with a plan: Manny Silva.
Rodney M Norman: Tell me about your Entertainment company, when were you founded?
Manny Silva: H.L.F ( HoodLink’d Familia Ent ) was established in 2009. It was a dream of my incarcerated little brother; that turned into reality. Myself along with my 2 hermanos (siblings) LINK’D up and here we are. A strong independent familia (family) with a lot of talent to offer.
Rodney M: I see you are nominated on several awards shows, how does that feel?
Manny: Yes, we are currently nominated for Label of the Year, Song of the year, Collab of the year, and I do believe Video of the year. I must say it feels great, and a true blessing.
Rodney M: Your team performed a lot in St.Louis, but where are you based?
Manny: We are based out of Madison, Illinois.
Rodney M: Who would you like to work with on a national scale?
Manny: I’d definitely have to say the diplomats ( Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, & Jim Jones ).
Rodney M: (Nice diplomats) Tell me about your merchandise, and what keeps your brand on the market?
Manny: A strong positive street team is what keeps my brand on the market. Our sponsor T.H.K ( The Humble Kids ), along with myself are working on my new clothing line Plugged N Clothing co., coming early 2016.
Rodney M: Who would you compare your music to?
Manny: I honestly couldn’t compare our style to anyone because we each have our own unique styles.
Rodney M: What local artist in the St. Louis market, would you say has the most grind?
Manny: My Romanion brother P.R.E.A.C.H. who’s been grinding so long, & my bro Rip James who’s one of the most humblest dudes I’ve met. But I salute everyone who’s out here grinding try to make it.
Rodney M: Name one of your best tracks by your team?
Manny: Look at Me ( at the Top ), my brother Jay Smoka’s single.
Rodney M: I hear a lot about no unity in St. Louis, what is your team doing to change the stigma?
Manny: I’ve sat back & observed over the years and worked with plenty artist and I must say true colors do show in time. My team H.L.F , Triple A , MarleyGang , THK, Volume Ent are a bit different. We show love to all even when no Love is given, we support even when not supported. Loyalty is a must. It’s time for St.Louis to show up and show out.
Rodney M: I do agree with you, you must maintain loyalty, with your team first, and then with your fans. I also believe if some of these locals artists would just get out of their egos and maintain a point of humbleness, things would get better. Thanks for your time, I am looking forward to seeing great things from your company, and good luck with your nominations.
Manny: Thanks for the opportunity and we truly appreciate yours & everyone’s support . Salute.
Rodney M Norman: You are welcome, and I am hoping to see you guys walk across many awards show stages, and claim your mark.
