A high school principal was arrested after she was caught with a student inside of a vehicle, engaging in some very un-principal like amorous behavior and sharing some weed. The Florida principal was caught in the marijuana-filled car with a 19-year-old senior from her school. When police questioned her, she claimed to have just met the student, but the senior copped to the truth – he was making out and getting baked with his high school principal.
Writes Fox News: “Police say 45-year-old Krista Morton of Wellington was arrested May 6 in Palm Springs. She is the principal at Mavericks High of Palm Springs, a charter school. Authorities say they responded to a report of people involved in sexual activity in a car and found Morton with a high school senior. They say that when Morton opened the door, her shirt was unbuttoned, exposing part of her chest.”
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up approximately 20 grams of marijuana, a lighter and some rolling papers.
Morton initially said she was “lonely” and had “picked up” the student, but as she was being placed under arrest, the student told police that the woman was his principal.
The Florida Sun-Sentinel picks up the story:
Just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Morton and the student were in a parked car at Lakeside Park, 700 Lakeside Drive, in North Palm Beach, according to the report. The person who called 911 said they thought either people were engaged in sexual activity or they were being attacked. An officer knocked on the window of the car and Morton opened the door, telling the officers the two were “just friends.” She said she had picked up the teen on the side of the road because she was lonely and wanted to get to know him, police said.
Jim Pegg, the head of charter schools for Palm Beach County, said this principal, caught half-undressed with her student, should have known better.
“She made a stupid decision,” Pegg said. “Educators in the state of Florida are held to a higher standard than other employees across the state.”
This is not the first time Principal Morton has had to answer to a questionable situation. Adds the Inquisitr:
In 2011, the Mavericks principal came under a veil of controversy at another Florida school district. Records show that Morton served as school administrator at Richard Millburn Academy in Manatee County. She led a charter school for at-risk students. Officials alleged that the school was graduating students who fell short of requirements. Additionally, their report cards were withheld and some did not meet graduation requirements. There were also reports that teachers took part in irregular grade-change patterns.
Shortly after that, Morton reportedly resigned.

Mavericks High said Morton has been placed under indefinite suspension. Police booked Morton into the Palm Beach County Jail. The student caught with his principal was also arrested and released on a $1,000 bail.
