Pop Evil headline Royal Oak Music Theatre

November 30, 2015

On Saturday, November 21 Royal Oak Music Theatre was the site of one of the area’s biggest local rock shows as three of Michigan’s best took the stage in Kaleido, Wilson and Pop Evil, who were headlining their first big set in the area. The show, deemed Michigan Madness, was sponsored by 101 WRIF.

Despite the first major snowstorm of the year, fans packed the venue almost to capacity and they weren’t disappointed as all three acts put on fantastic sets.

Kaleido warmed up the crowd as they burst onto the stage with “Unbreakable” and quickly won over a lot of people who hadn’t heard of them before with their straight-up rock and roll sound and vocalist Christina Chriss’ versatile voice.

Wilson then hit the stage with a bang and a hard-hitting set that featured a number of songs from their new Right To Rise album including the anthemic title track.

Pop Evil are out touring behind their latest record UP and Saturday’s set featured a few songs from the album including current single “Ways To Get High” and hit “Footsteps (Go Higher)”.

The band hit the stage with “Deal With The Devil” and then proceeded to play hits from all of their releases as the band members energetically worked the stage while drummer Chachi Riot was a furious blur as he kept things rolling.

Meanwhile, vocalist Leigh Kakaty demonstrated his vocal range while keeping the audience captivated. Later in the set, Kakaty took to the crowd for a performance of early hit “Stepping Stone”.

Pop Evil closed things out with a rocking performance of their most popular track “100 In A 55”.
