There is nothing like the sparkle and twinkle of a Christmas tree to put you in a festive holiday mood. Now you have the chance to see more than 20 exquisitely decorated Christmas trees all in one place when you pay a visit to Playhouse Square to attend their annual Festival of Trees on display through December 24.
Sponsored by various area businesses and organizations, Cleveland Play House’s free Festival of Trees (taking place in the Allen Theater at Playhouse Square) will fill visitors’ hearts with the Christmas spirit as they behold the sight of a multitude of holiday trees all uniquely decorated by professionals. All the trees are sponsored by corporate and community leaders who with their contributions are raising support for the Cleveland Play House’s artistic and educational programming.
This year the Festival of Trees will also feature a special “Memory Tree” where visitors can hang a “Share-a-Memory” paper ornament with one of their favorite holiday memories written on it. Hours for the Festival of Trees are 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday – Friday, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday. The Festival of Trees is free and open to the public.
While at Playhouse Square, be sure to take a look at the magnificent GE Chandelier suspended from a 44-foot high steel structure over the intersection of E. 14th St. and Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland. The 6000 pound GE Chandelier is comprised of 4200 crystals and has been named a the world’s largest outdoor chandelier by the Guinness World Records.
