October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In recognition of this, Pink Journey of Lights will bring forth a number of fundraising events and activities in surrounding Adams and York Counties. One such event taking place this Saturday, the first Saturday in October, is the Pink Houses Music Festival.
The Pink Houses Music Festival will be held in New Oxford, at the New Oxford Social Pavilion, beginning at 11 a.m. on Oct. 3. The event will feature live music happening onsite throughout the day, provided by 15 different bands. In addition to live music, entertainment can be found in an array of other pursuits as well, including raffles, games of chance, photo booth opportunities (between noon and 6 p.m.), and so much more. Vendors will be onsite as well, with delicious food selections and even spirits available for purchase during the event.
Things will wrap up at the Social Pavilion at 7 p.m., but the party will continue on through the night, between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. at The Mill, on York Road in New Oxford. Please note that there is no cover charge to attend the Pink Houses Music Festival, but donations are greatly appreciated. This event is a main fundraiser for the Pink Journey of Lights as well as three local funds that the Pink Journey of lights will be supporting this year—the Adams County Breast Cancer Coalition, Pink Out Women’s Cancer Fund, and the Adams County Patient Help Fund. Throughout the season, Pink Journey of Lights will be presenting several other events in the community as well. On Oct. 17, the 3rd annual Pink Ribbon Benefit Car Show will be held at Battlefield Harley Davidson in Gettysburg between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. All makes and models are welcome to attend. There will be a $10 donation cost to register. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 cars to register as well as trophies for the best cars in each of the five classes. There will be a live DJ onsite during the event as well as vendors and giveaways throughout the day. For more information on this event, click here.
