Ask any dog trainer how important it is to get just the right dog for you,and he’ll say that while breed and size are important considerations, they do not equal temperament or personality. As a dog lover who has had many dog companions and most often two dogs of the same breed to be companions for one another while I worked, I can attest to the fact that even if dogs are of the same breed their personalities and temperament can be very different.
A five year study of puppies has revealed scientific evidence for astrology in determine a pets temperament and personality. Yes astrology! So, is your beloved pooch a dominate leader, charismatic, strong and/or sociable? If so, there is a very good chance that he was born at the time when the Sun or Jupiter was angular in his horoscope. This is the finding of a statistical study undertaken by French scientist Suzel Fuzeau-Braesc from the Universite’ de Paris. The study found that the correlation between angular positions and temperament/behavioral traits were particularly strong for dominant dogs.
We found that the association between extroversion/dominance and Jupiter, and between extroversion/dominance and the sun were amazingly strong. The results far exceeded the threshold of significance we set for the test. Some other much less impressive associations can also be made – for example, a reserved character and a prominent Saturn.
The study, first published in the Journal for Scientific Exploration, is now written about in, Astrology Off The Beaten Track, A Scientific Study of Planets and Personality. This 2009 book tells the story of Suzel Fuzeau-Braesch’s 40 years of research that was meant to bridge the divide between astrology and modern science. (Click here for a wonderful book review) Unfortunately Dr. Fuzeau-Baesch died at age 80 before her book was published.

So, if you want to find out the temperament and personality of your pet or the pet you’re about to take home let the The Old Farmers Almanac be your guide.
