The PGA Tour Championship 2015 live stream and TV coverage schedule opens on Thursday afternoon as 29 of the best professional golfers compete for a hefty prize. In addition to the monetary winnings associated with the tournament, many of the top contenders in the FedEx Cup championship are looking at the 2,000 points they will also win for winning this event. That includes the man atop the PGA leaderboard, Jason Day, as well as those capable of overtaking him for the championship. The PGA Tour live streaming and televised coverage arrives from Golf Channel and NBC on Thursday.
On Sept. 22, the ESPN.com website reported on the playoff scenarios heading into the four-day tournament in Atlanta, Georgia. Five players of the 29 in the field can potentially win the FedEx Cup championship for 2015 just by winning at the Tour Championship on Sunday. Current standings leader Jason Day will clinch the FedEx Cup with a win. However, if either Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Henrik Stenson or Bubba Watson can also win the Cup by winning in Atlanta. Other players, including Zach Johnson and Dustin Johnson, could also win the FedEx, but they’d need some help to do so.
Tee times begin at 11:40 a.m. Eastern Time on Thursday with Louis Oosthuizen among the first to tee off. Although tee times come every 10 minutes, the main contenders will be teeing off later in the event. Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy tee off at 1:10 p.m. ET, while Dustin Johnson is at 1:30. Bubba Watson and Zach Johnson will go at 1:40 p.m. ET with Henrik Stenson and Rickie Fowler at 1:50 p.m. ET. Spieth and Day will be the final tee times, scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on Thursday.
Heading into the tournament, odds makers have the current FedEx standings leader Day at +350 to win the 2015 Tour Championship. Rory McIlroy is next in line at +650 followed by Jordan Spieth with a +800 price on the moneyline. Henrik Stenson is a +1000 favorite followed by Justin Rose and Rickie Fowler at +1100 each. When it comes to the first round the odds favor Day at +600, McIlroy at +700 and Spieth at +900 to be leading after Thursday.
The opening round of the PGA Tour Championship for 2015 will have television coverage starting at 1 p.m. ET on the Golf Channel.
