Things are starting to heat up at the Disneyland Resort! The 65th anniversary of the Park’s opening day has brought new shows such as the Disneyland Forever Firework show, a nightly spectacle that showcases Disney’s talent with fireworks and storytelling. The luminescent Paint the Night Parade allows for guests to see their favorite characters in a new light. Finally, Disney has recently updated some of their popular rides such as adding the Hatbox Ghost back to the Haunted Mansion and a new look to the Matterhorn Bobsleds.
Starting July 1st, the classic ride Peter Pan’s Flight, will reopen with updated nursery scenes and special effects. According to the L.A. Times article, Disneyland adding new special effects to classic rides by Brady MacDonald, “The nursery scene in Peter Pan’s Flight will be re-imagined with new special effects representing Tinkerbell and her pixie dust trail-which has advanced from projected light in the 1950s to video projection in the 1970s to lasers and-other technology today.” This ride has been open since Disneyland’s opening day and has been through several changes. It was supposed to open in May however it was pushed to reopen in July.
It is important to make sure to get a seat on the Peter Pan ‘s Flight ride early. With the summer crowds visiting Disneyland during the busy tourist season, the popularity of the 65th anniversary and the popularity of this ride, it may be a good idea to either ride this attraction in the morning or during the Mickey’s Soundstational Parade.
Peter Pan’s Flight has been a part of the Disneyland Resort since July 17th 1955. It has been a magical part of Disney guests’ experiences and revisits some of the areas from the 1953 animated feature Peter Pan such as the Mermaid Lagoon, Skull Rock and the Darlings nursery.
