The 50th Anniversary edition of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” airs on ABC Television Network on Nov. 30, 2015. The animated film will follow a special about the film, hosted by Kristin Bell.
Macy’s is featuring 3D displays of the Peanuts characters in their famous Christmas windows at Macy’s stores. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” is the theme decorating the holiday windows at the Macy’s flagship store at Harold Square in New York City. The festive holiday theme also decorates the windows of Macy’s downtown stores in Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., according to Macy’s. Pictures of the animated Macy’s windows are shown in the attached slideshow.
The Peanuts characters were also featured in the Macy’s float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Snoopy’s Doghouse float debuted in the 89th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The float highlights elements from the classic holiday movie, including Snoopy’s full dog dish, an over-sized version of Charlie Brown’s famous Christmas tree and Snoopy’s colorfully decorated doghouse. Peanuts characters Charlie Brown, Linus and Lucy went along for the ride as Snoopy and pal Woodstock took flight as giant helium balloons. This was Snoopy’s 39th appearance in the televised procession.
The U.S. Postal Service has also released “A Charlie Brown Christmas’ stamps in honor of the popular classic holiday film.
