Pat Johnson of Wauchula was the only two-event champion in the Florida State USBC Women’s Bowling Association’s annual seniors championships, which condluded a two-weekend run at Orange Bowl Lanes in Lakeland last Sunday (Nov. 15).
According to final, unofficial standings, Johnson topped the leaderboard in two Division 1 (ages 50-64) categories: singles (776) and all-events (1,433). The No. 1 positions in other events were held by: Carol Teel and Lucy Sandelin of Tampa (1,395 in doubles); Dianne Smith of Lakeland in Division 2 singles (730); and Martha Crumel of Boca Raton in Division 2 all-events (1,386).
Sandra Miller of Port Charlotte posted the top performance among entrants representing the Sarasota-Manatee-Charlotte County area. She finished No. 12 in Division 2 singles (693), 24th in Division 2 all-events (1,320), and 23rd, pairing with Denise McCarthy, in doubles (1,320). McCarthy was also 16th in Division 1 all-events (1,348).
Other area players among the Top 25 are: Linda Britt and Brenda Yow of Parrish, 25th in doubles (1,318) and Billie Huff of Sarasota, 14th of Sarasota (1,347). Following are the top three in each event, plus area bowlers in the Top 25:

St. Petersburg Women’s Classic concludes this weekend (Nov. 21-22)
Yanette Thompson of Homestead has the scores to beat in all-events heading into the second and final weekend of the 62nd annual St. Petersburg Women’s Classic. She sets the pace in handicap all-events with a nine-game pinfall of 2,226, and she’s also No. 1 in scratch all-events with 1,992, a 221.3 average.
Samantha McCue and Laurel Spinner of Fort Myers lead in both doubles categories, scratch (1,313) and handicap (1,442), while Crystal Tudor of Pinellas Park paces handicap singles with 795, while Denise Griffin of Hernando leads scratch singles with 663.
A team from Reddington Shores called Tampa Baybees has the top score in the four-player team competition with a 2,692 pinfall. The top three in each event, plus bowlers representing the Sarasota-Manatee-Charlotte County listed among the Top 25:
