A pastor’s wife died after being shot in the head during a home invasion, and after the suspect was described as being “black,” a heated debate under the November 13 Fox News article addressed the issue of whether liberals are to be blamed for what is happening in the country. “Time to thin the liberal herd (regardless of color) before they can finish destroying our country and culture,” writes one Fox News reader. And quite astonishingly, he is not alone in his opinion.
“It is a shame Obama and the left letting thugs with lame or even no cause to run wild in the streets!”
“Farrakhan, Sharpton, Johnson and Holder and Obama gave the shooter the courage he needed to snuff a White woman.”
“I am not racist, but it’s getting difficult hearing that I am everyday. The problem with liberal blacks is they’re liberal slaves. They need to take life serious like the other races.”
“I pray you, as an educated person, vote for conservatives so that Godly American patriotic values can help solve the problems brought about by liberals and their failed policies creating the destruction of the black family. Nothing in this country will be fixed if 95%+ of American blacks continue to vote for an environment which will only worsen their life circumstance! Liberals merely want the minority vote…nothing else matters to them including the improvement of life in the black ghetto.”
According to Indianapolis Police Chief Richard Hite, youth pastor Davey Blackburn and his wife Amanda Grace Blackburn moved to Indianapolis in January 2012 to start Resonate Church. During Tuesday morning’s home invasion, Amanda, who was 12 weeks pregnant, was fatally injured by a single gunshot to the head. Davey Blackburn was reportedly at the gym and found his 28-year-old wife wounded when he returned home at 8:30 a.m. The couple’s 15-month-old son was found unharmed in his crib upstairs.
Three hours before the pastor’s wife was shot during the home invasion, another house was burglarized just two doors down. Neighbors who saw the suspect outside reported him to the police and several surveillance cameras caught an image of him:
“The suspect is black and wore a two-toned hoodie with light pants, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department captain Craig Converse said at a news conference. He said the suspect’s height is between 5 feet, 4 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches. He tried to pull his hood down over his face, Converse added.”
In regard to his wife’s murder during the home invasion, Pastor Davey Blackburn released an official statement, along with pictures of his beautiful family, saying that he will continue the work that he and Amanda had begun:
“I know that in her death and legacy even more people will come to a saving faith in Christ. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt her desire for me would be to continue what we’ve started here in Indy. I hold firm to the belief that God is still good, that He takes our tragedy and turns it into triumph, and that the best truly is yet to come.”
However, the legacy of the pastor’s wife invasion death is not resulting in any “triumph” but rather a lot of blame. And whether liberal or conservative, one has to agree with the comments made by Fox News readers that if the races would have been reversed (a white man killing a black woman), Black Lives Matter would be in uproar and the $1,000 reward for any information in the case would be definitely higher.
While plenty of images of the pastor’s wife who was killed during the home invasion have been published by the media, no images are available so far of the suspect even though he can be seen on surveillance cameras — intend or coincidence?
