Stroll Hawthorne Street for some festive shopping and tasting. Holiday shopping is tastier when paired with handmade fresh ravioli from Portland’s masters of pasta.
The Pastaworks location on SE Hawthorne will stay open later on Wednesday, December 8th 2015 from 5-8 p.m. for Pasta Festa, a festive shopping event with complimentary Pastaworks ravioli and freshly baked focaccia, as well as samples of Pastaworks’ custom-blend, limited edition Bon Naso (good nose) pinot noir blended by Pastaworks’ Kevin de Garmo and Jay Somers of J. Christopher Wines.
Back for the first time in a decade, this wildly popular custom label wine is blended from Dundee Hills select barrels chosen by de Garmo and Somers. Bon Naso is available exclusively at Pastaworks and City Market NW for $25.
Some of Pastaworks’ local purveyors will be on site to sample their delicious products, including:
- Olympia Provisions – Elias Cairo, co-owner and charcuterie expert, will sign his new cookbook, Olympia Provisions: Cured Meats and Tales from an American Charcuterie and share samples of his renowned charcuterie.
- Pok Pok Som – Dylan Meyers, operations manager of Pok Pok Som, will mix festive cocktails made with Som and sample the new Pok Pok Som soda.
- J. Christopher Wines – Jay and Ronda Somers will be pouring Bon Naso pinot noir, which they blended in collaboration with Pastaworks’ Kevin de Garmo, as well as some J. Christopher favorites.
Pastaworks will be transitioning to a new location in January. They will be located at Providore Fine Foods Market which will open at 2340 NE Sandy Blvd, located beside the Ocean complex. I am certain they will be missed on Hawthorne.
