Beach balls and bathing beauties converted the West Palm Photographic Centre, located in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach, into an atmosphere of sizzling sand and surf as international swimwear and accessories designers debuted collections that ranged from barely there to decadent and extremely dazzling. Palm Beach Swim Week is produced by Fusion Fashion & Art, Inc., under the direction of Lilyana Eisele who is devoted to making Palm Beach a supreme fashion week leader in the nation.
Palm Beach Swim Week drew a fashionable crowd to see swimwear collections for four fantastic evenings. Additionally, there was also entertainment energizing the venue each evening. The event began on Thursday, November 5, 2015, with the Mayor of West Palm Beach, Jeri Muoio, officiating the opening, followed by the Palm Beach Makos Cheerleaders who took to the runway, putting the audience in the mood for one hugely enjoyable evening of fashion and giving them a preview of what was in store for the next four days, culminating on November 8, 2015.
Each designer brought their distinct sense of individuality to the fashion event. Poema Swim kicked it all off, making design dreams come true. Poema, a local mother/daughter design team, brought deep colors, strikingly bold stripes and high-quality fabrics to the runway. Also featured throughout the four days of fashion was Dyanna Rosemary Swimwear, the couture brand of the swimwear world. Dyanna Romero is the designer behind this exquisite line and comes straight from the beautiful country of Columbia. Her suits are all handcrafted masterpieces, waiting to instill confidence and charisma in every woman. Karo Swimwear has made swimsuits into marvels of beauty, proudly displaying them on the runway. The inspiration for the brand has been jewels, pearls, crystals and natural stones. Each suit is uniquely feminine with a piece of jewelry built right in. Although the line is relatively new, founded in 2013 by Krakow, Poland native, Kasia Roginska, it is gaining a strong reputation in the swimwear industry.
The event was made for women and men. CJG Designs showcased swimwear from the man’s point of view. Daring to deviate from the ordinary man’s swimsuit, CJG Designs brightens the look of the male with colorful prints and combinations that could never have been imagined. Ellen Bryant Swim made the traditional bikini pop with pizazz as each solid suit was christened with a few hints of attention-drawing prints and stripes. Exotically original, Bella Fashions brought royal looks to the runway, using various types of materials and fabrics, brilliant colors and fun-loving models.
From classy to chic, from sexy to sophisticated, Misly Beltinor brought her individualistic sense of style to the runway with every woman’s personality mixed into her swimwear. For the Brazilian bombshell within all of us, DESPI Swimwear has a refined elegance that captures the subtle goddess from within. The models glowed with gorgeous grace as they strutted down the runway in swimwear, resort wear and embroidered coverups to crash any beach party. Lastly but certainly just as memorable as the rest, Sandbar Swimwear, directly out of Delray Beach, Florida, was fresh and youthful in tropical colors such as lime green and paradise pink. The collection truly proved that a Sandbar swimsuit invokes fun in the sun in the tropics of South Florida.
Also complimenting each of the collections were accessory designers with items that added glamour and glitz and giving guests a preview of their creativity and talent. Mercedes Brunelli designs star-studded clutches for showing off that luxurious evening gown. With diamonds and jewels being a part of every clutch, Brunelli believes that a woman’s style is measured by her accessory and her clutches allow every woman to embrace their inner jewel. Sharon Tatem Scarves ignited the fire in the models walking the runway. The scarves are 100% silk with designs that tell a story and taken from fine art collection of paintings by Sharon Tatem herself.
Fruits of the tropics, chocolate fondue, Tito’s Handmade Vodka , a wide variety of cheese and crackers and plenty of sweets were just the right amount of fare to satisfy the appetite.
Lilyana Eisele is quickly on the way to realizing a dream for the city of West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County. With fashion events such as this one that soar to great heights, West Palm Beach has the potential to shine in the world of fashion, just like the big cities that claim that title now.
Following up on Palm Beach Swim Week will be Palm Beach International Fashion Week which is set to take place in March of 2016. There will be a showcase of highly talented designers showing the hottest trends of the season along with pop-up shops and a whole lot more so stay tuned.
