Spring cleaning is upon you and the home cleaning is going great until you reach the bedroom. The dust and dirt is not the problem, it is the order. If you are of the chaotic type, or the type that has a “chaotic order” for their rooms – or you share a bedroom with one, – you will see that cleaning becomes difficult when having to deal with all the clutter first. So how about putting some order in that room so that you can enjoy peaceful nights of slumber without worrying that something might fall off its pile and startle you.
You might want to begin with taking out everything that is not nailed down and piling it up on the bed. Yes, creating even more chaos to make future order is a thing. When everything is cleared up, now is your time to finish up with the cleaning or do carpet cleaning so that you can start organising on a clean slate. Once done, turn your attention to the room. First you need to think whether you liked the old room’s style. Maybe you can move a few things around. Have the bed in the middle of the room to make it a focus point for the room, or maybe shove it into a corner to free up more space or make the room seem more, well, roomy. Then place the end tables around it, and think about new places for the dresser or wardrobe. And that night table might find a more proper place as well. Do you have a desk in the room? Go through every item you have in that room and think hard about where you want it. You can browse the web for many good ideas you can implement if you do not have the imagination for this.
When done with the furniture, focus on the wardrobe or dresser. Those piles of clothes can be much more orderly, right? Since you are in the process of thorough house cleaning, this is a good time to reset the wardrobe and put an order to your clothes. Take them all out just as you did in the beginning of the process, and start organising. Begin with folding, and fold properly so that a piece of clothing does not take more space than required. Then separate your clothes into seasons and shove the ones for the farthest season in the back of the wardrobe.
The ones for the current season should be up front, yes, but you can further separate them into often used and rarely used piles, and place the latter in the back so that it does not get in your way when searching your wardrobe. If your wardrobe is one that has multiple sections and allows it, be creative about the order and organise your clothes by colour for a more aesthetic effect. Find a drawer for the undergarments and socks, and you are pretty much done.
Now step back and enjoy the view of your newly organised space. Now home cleaning can continue without you having to look back at the chaos of the bedroom.
