Orbitz.com, popular travel booking website, unveiled itself as the first travel company to integrate Smart Lock for Passwords for it’s customers.
Smart Lock for Passwords is a secure password manager from Google, into Orbitz.com and the Orbitz app for Android.
Customers that sign in to Orbitz.com using Chrome or the Orbitz app for Android will now have the option to save their password with Smart Lock.
Smart Lock will recall the password to offer automatic sign the customer in when they return to Orbitz.com or the app – even when using a different device.
The focus to to allow for better customer engagement and making it faster to receive the full benefits available to signed-in users.
“Our goal is to provide our customers with a lightning fast and frictionless experience when interacting with our website and apps. Smart Lock is one way that we are giving Orbitz customers that seamless experience,” said Chris Brown, chief product officer of Orbitz.com.
“More than one-third of consumers are now interacting with at least two devices when booking a trip.1 Smart Lock makes it especially easy for those customers to pick up where they left off when planning a vacation no matter what device they are using, “ continued Brown.
Orbitz Worldwide announced that at its annual stockholders meeting in Chicago that stockholders approved the merger agreement allowing for the acquisition of Orbitz Worldwide by Expedia, Inc. The meeting was held on May 27th, 2015.
Shareholders overwhelming approved of the acquisition as approximately 74 percent of the shares outstanding voted in favor. More than 99 percent of the votes cast were in favor of the transaction, according to Orbitz.
Expedia, Inc. and Orbitz Worldwide announced their entry into the merger agreement on Feb. 12, 2015, whereby Expedia agreed to acquire all outstanding shares of Orbitz Worldwide at $12 per share.
