Releve Entertainment ‘s Dr. Holly Carter is the face behind the major move of faith-based films and docu-series on and off the big screen. Within the past several years, she has managed to mesh faith-based organizations with the Entertainment industry seamlessly with her annual conference The Merge Summit. Dr. Carter discussed her plans to empower other cities with her vision in an interview Thursday, July 30.
Los Angeles, CA has been the home to The Merge Summit for a number of years. Entertainers, Preachers and conference attendees all under the same roof at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel. Now, Dr. Holly Carter’s vision has broadened to other parts of the country. August 1, The Merge Symposium will convene in Baltimore, MD (Chicago, IL TBA). “My goal is to at least give them a taste and a touch of the access we provide for Hollywood. So, they would at least have an opportunity to connect with players that are paying it forward,” explained Dr. Carter.
The Merge Symposium puts attendees within arms length of some the nation’s most powerful, creative and thought-provoking people such as Roland S. Martin, Lisa Raye McCoy, Dr. Jamal Bryant, Michelle Williams and more. Dr. Holly Carter’s vision is to work with faith-based organizations throughout the United States to connect them to the resources necessary to continue their growth.
Dealing with topics, such as the Artist’s Voice, panelists tackle subject matter well-beyond the Artist’s physical singing voice, but their influence to stand up for worthy causes that affect human beings. Among other topics to be discussed, “Black Lives Matters” and the recent headlines that have shined a spotlight on the overall culture of our Police Departments.
Dr. Holly Carter uses her platform to surge forward with Kingdom initiatives and Entertainment business know-how, producing one of television’s most controversial, but yet realistic, shows the Preachers of L.A. Showing the ins and outs of the church world put some people on pause while millions of others watched influential Pastors’ and Minister’ lives unfold weekly. Perhaps, some of their lives the public did not need to know about, however being transparent creates vulnerability and causes conditions to be more fertile for growth. Next in the “Preachers of…” franchise, camera lenses focus on Preachers in the Atlanta, GA area which will premiere in November.
