The Sat. Nov. 28, 2015 edition of the Oklahoma State Cowboys (OSU) vs Oklahoma Sooners (OU) Bedlam football game is scheduled to be shown at 7:00 p.m. on ABC (ch 8.1 KTUL in Tulsa). ESPN Gameday is scheduled to broadcast in front of the Edmon Low Library near the middle of the OSU campus in Stillwater, OK from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The town of Stillwater, OK is under an ice storm warning until noon Saturday. The temperature for the beginning of the game should be above freezing.
The weather affected Oklahoma State (spoiler alert) in their loss last week against Baylor. The cold weather caused the kickoffs to be short and negated OSU punter Zach Sinor’s ability to pin opponents deep. The OSU defense was burned by the big play early and when they usually adjusted, Baylor had switched quarterbacks due to an injury. The OSU defense is very coach-able but needs to be coached. Whenever they are in a new situation like the beginning of a game, or when KSU uses a fourth string QB they miss assignments leading to big plays.
Oklahoma barely beat the Texas Christian (TCU) Horned Frogs last week when TCU, instead pf tying the score with a PAT, chose to go for the win with a two point conversion. OU quarterback Baker Mayfield was intentionally hit in the head by a TCU player but was allowed to stay in the game until halftime. OU is allowing him to play against OSU.
With TCU (spoiler alert) beating Baylor in a low scoring (due to weather) double overtime game on Friday night, the Bedlam game will determine the winner of the Big 12 championship.
The University of Tulsa Hurricane (spoiler alert) also beat Tulane on Friday. They are bowl eligible but unlikely the bowl game will be played on Tulsa TV. ESPN has largely cornered the market on bowl games but because of illegal streaming, they are losing millions of subscribers every year.
