If I Should Go Before You by City and Colour; October 9th
The fifth instalment from the brilliantly talented Dallas Green, shares all the high hopes of its predecessors. Once part of a staple Canadian punk band Alexisonfire, Green opted to branch out solo, write his songs, and make them sing on his acoustic guitar. He’s perfected the singer-songwriter sound, added elements of folk, bluegrass, country and rock ‘n roll, making his music beautiful and powerful. The first single, “Wasted Love” is classic City and Colour, and the second single “Woman” is its own work of art. Doesn’t look like he’s slowing down anytime soon. Thank goodness for that.
Sun Leads Me On by Half Moon Run; October 23rd
Half Moon Run is a Montreal-based group, coming off a fantastic debut release, 2012’s Dark Eyes. They have a an incredible amount of depth in everything they sing, and know exactly how to articulate any emotion. Their music fits effortlessly in the background, while the lyric and vocals sweep you away. Then all of a sudden, the music builds up and blends in perfectly, taking the track to the next level. Their first single, “Trust” only shows these guys know exactly what they’re doing. Check them out.
