As Obama toured Alaska this week looking for so called damage caused by global warming, what he found instead was a half-baked Alaska.
Obama might have observed the glacier of Glacier Bay receding, but Patrick Moore observed, in the Wall St. Journal, that the glacier has been receding for centuries. Obama quite obviously was using the Alaskan visit to advance his tailor-made narrative on man made climate change.
Moore informs a climate-glib audience that Glacier Bay began receding around 1750. Be reminded that there were no cars burning fossil fuels back then. There were no coal-fired power plants providing cheap electricity. There were no Al Gores leaving huge carbon footprints. Certainly, there were no alarmists blaming glacial ice melt on man made global warming.
Moore reminds us that Sierra Club founder, John Muir, found that the glacier retreated significantly by 1879 while naming nothing as its cause besides nature doing what it does naturally. By 1900, Glacier Bay was almost ice-free, remaining yet free from insinuations of man made change in the climate.
Now, we have Obama’s war on CO2, the war on greenhouse emissions, the war on fossil fuels, the war on Americans waiting to exhale for fear of incurring some usurious tax for breathing, and all because government blames people instead of natural factors for glacial melt. It’s the hoax of the millennium.
Patrick Moore put it politely when he revealed the motivations that prevail among the powerful. “Politicians want us to believe they are saving us from ruin; religious leaders want to reinforce original sin and the need for repentance; some business leaders want us to subsidize their expensive ‘green’ technologies; and the climate activists want their money-machine to keep on giving.”
Not one of those ill-motivated groups noticed the benefits of CO2, namely that plants, hence food crops, grow better and faster with more CO2 in the air. Those groups aren’t interested in feeding the hungry of the world with the bounty of CO2 being a boon to plant life.
Not once in the Alaskan trip did Obama inquire about how much of the glacier melted from natural causes. One hundred percent natural occurs only in the vocabulary of orange juice makers who are pumping extra CO2 into their greenhouses. They know a good thing when they see one.
And, not one of those ill-motivated groups noticed that the real threat is a colder climate wherein more people die when it’s cold than they do when it’s warm. Obama, leading the pack of ill-motivated groups, would not recognize a real threat if it presented itself on his desk for signature.
