My daughter has been pestering me for no-bake cookies and I could never find my recipe, until now. The recipe book is old, stained and the front and back cover has disappeared because it was used so much.
This recipe of no-bake chocolate cookies is easy, chocolaty, delicious and it is moist, not dry. These cookies will satisfy the need to have something sweet, it will satisfy the most severe chocolate craving, and they don’t take long to mix up and eat.
No-Bake Chocolate Cookies
- 1 c. butter
- 3/4 c. water
- 1 c. corn syrup
- 3 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1/4 c. dry milk
- 1 c. peanut butter
- 1 Tbs. vanilla
- 5 to 6 c. oatmeal
- 1 c. raisins (Optional)
Cover a heat safe area with wax paper to drop the hot cookies onto.
Place the butter and water in a large saucepan, over low heat until the butter melts.
Add the syrup, sugar, cocoa, and dry milk. Stirring, bring the mixture to boil and boil for 5 1/2 minutes.
Remove from heat and add the peanut butter, vanilla, oatmeal. and raisins. Mix the ingredients thoroughly over the heat again and heat well.
Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Allow to cool, if you can.
Sit down and enjoy.
