Religious aspects of the Christmas season are being celebrated at the Niederman’s Family Farm in Liberty Township, Ohio (between Dayton and Cincinnati) from November 27 through December 30. If you are seeking a family-friendly, Bible-based Christmas attraction that emphasizes the real “reason for the season” then pay a visit to the Niederman’s free walk-through Christmas display.
Located on 265 acres, Niederman’s offers a half mile stroll through events of the Bible with life-size and bigger-than-life characters depicting scenes from the real story of Christmas and the Bible. The paths are illuminated by tens of thousands of lights while Christmas music plays from more than 50 outdoor speakers.
At the completion of the walk, visitors are greeted overhead by 10 foot angels with trumpets in hand leading to a large, heated barn where free hot chocolate (one cup per person) and two cookies (per person) are served. Visitors can also enjoy free, live musical entertainment provided each day by church choirs, bluegrass groups, a hand bell choir and groups like LOL (Living Out Loud), Silver String Violins and the Franz Klaber Orchestra just to name a few.
Be sure to stop by the two barns where you can see live animals that include donkeys, sheep, goats, llamas and a pony. And don’t miss the lights atop the larger barn that features a red cross and a white star. Niederman’s Family Farm is open from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is free but a goodwill offering is suggested. Parking is free. The walking path for the display is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Service dogs are welcome.
