The NFL is nearing the halfway point for the 2015 season. Here is a list of the betting odds and lines plus the over/unders for all the NFL games taking place this week in Week 8 of the 2015 season.
For the second week in a row there is an early London game this Sunday. There are still five undefeated teams in the NFL this week but there will not be after Week 8 guaranteed. That’s because two of the undefeated teams are playing each other this week in an intriguing match-up. Good luck to all the teams and especially the bettors this week in Week 8 of the NFL season!
- Miami +7.5 at Patriots (O/U is 51)
The Patriots beat the Jets 30-23 last week to stay undefeated. The Dolphins are looking good since they fired Joe Philbin winning two weeks in a row impressively but they were only facing the Titans and the Texans who are 3-10 combined. Can the Dolphins compete with the undefeated Patriots this week? Tom Brady is now 166-47 as a NFL QB while Ryan Tannehill is 26-28.
- Detroit +5 vs Chiefs in London (O/U is 45.5)
The game in London this week is a real NFL dud featuring the 2-5 Chiefs vs the 1-6 Lions. The only good news is that at least one of these teams will win this week. It better be Andy Reid or he could find himself in big trouble in Kansas City like Joe Philbin was after the Dolphins lost in London.
- New York Giants +3 at Saints (O/U is 49.5)
The New York Giants with Tom Coughlin as coach and Eli Manning as QB have not done badly as road underdogs in the NFL historically. Will that be the case this week in New Orleans? The Saints have saved their season over the last two weeks beating the Falcons and the Colts to go to 3-4.
- Bengals -1.5 at Steelers (O/U is 48.5)
Ben Roethlisberger is expected to start this game for the Steelers. That is big news because Big Ben has a lifetime record of 108-53 as a starting QB in the NFL. Andy Dalton is no slouch himself with a record of 46-23-1. This should be a terrific game. If Roethlisberger is healthy the Steelers are a live home underdog.
- Vikings -1 at Bears (O/U is 42)
Teddy Bridgewater has the Vikings at 4-2 this season. The two QBs taken ahead of him in the 2014 NFL Draft were Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel. Bortles is 2-5 this season with the Jaguars and who knows where Johnny Manziel is at really. Jay Cutler for the Bears is 63-61 lifetime as a NFL starting QB. He always has a punchers chance because of his arm.
- Tampa Bay +7 at Falcons (O/U is 49)
The Buccaneers blew a 24-0 lead last week at the Redskins. They played it conservatively at the end of the game when they had a chance to go up by 10 points and only kicked a field goal and lost the game by a point 31-30. The Falcons have certainly looked vulnerable the last two weeks but how will Tampa Bay react to their terrible loss last week?
- Arizona -4.5 at Browns (O/U is 46)
The Cardinals hung on Monday night to beat the Ravens 26-18 thwarting Joe Flacco getting a game tying TD at the end of the game on the goal line. The Browns got clobbered by the Rams and they are a real mess. Josh McCown is now 18-37 as a starting NFL QB at 36 years of age. Why keep starting him?
- Chargers +3 at Ravens (O/U is 50.5)
Two teams looking at lost seasons here. The Chargers are 2-5 and the Ravens are 1-6 after both teams lost last week. Both teams have competent quarterbacks as Philip Rivers is 90-61 as a NFL starter and Joe Flacco is 73-46. Which team won’t quit this week?
- 49ers +8.5 at Rams (O/U is 39.5)
The 49ers are only 2-5 on the season but 8.5 points is a lot of points for a NFL team to give up. Especially considering the Rams are just 3-3 and have given up more points this season (119) than they have scored (108). Another game this week featuring two crappy teams.
- Titans +4.5 at Texans (O/U is N/A)
Yet another NFL game in Week 8 featuring two lousy teams. The Titans are 1-5 and the Texans are 2-5. Will Marcus Mariota play this week? Does it really matter? Texans owner Bob McNair is pretty unhappy down in Houston.
- New York Jets -1.5 at Raiders (O/U is 44.5)
The Raiders are 3-3 and find themselves home underdogs this week vs the 4-2 New York Jets. Before anybody goes crazy thinking the Jets should be a bigger favorite this week on the road than 1.5 points, Ryan Fitzpatrick’s record as a starting NFL QB is 37-57-1. Derek Carr is 6-16 but he’s 3-3 this season.
- Seahawks +6 at Dallas Cowboys (O/U is 40.5)
The Dallas Cowboys switched QBs to Matt Cassel and he promptly threw three interceptions including a pick-six in the Cowboys 27-20 loss to the Giants. Both Cowboys backup QBs stink and now the team has to play Seattle this week. How long before Tony Romo returns?
- Packers -3 at Broncos (O/U is 45.5)
Both the Packers and Broncos are undefeated this season so one of these NFL undefeated teams will lose this week. If the Packers defense is good enough, they are allowing just 17 points per game, they will exploit Peyton Manning’s inability to get the ball down the field. Can the Broncos defense, who is also allowing just 17 points per game, stop Aaron Rodgers?
- Colts +7 at Carolina (O/U is 46)
Andrew Luck certainly looks like he has something wrong with his arm or his shoulder. He only completed 52% of his passes last week in the loss to the Saints. If Luck was healthy you would jump all over a seven point spread with him even against an undefeated Carolina Panthers team on the road but he’s too big a question mark until he shows he is healthy.
