The NFL is now past the halfway point in the season and there are still three undefeated teams left. The Denver Broncos went down to defeat last week to home underdog Indianapolis. Historically the undefeated teams will almost always lose sooner or later so bettors should be increasingly wary of them.
Here is a list of the betting odds and lines plus the over/unders for all the NFL games taking place this week in Week 10 of the NFL season. Is everybody who had the over in the Giants game last week still jumping for joy? The game was under at 44 points with seconds left when the Buccaneers started lateraling the ball around when Trevin Wade of the Giants grabbed the ball at the five yard line and ran it in for a TD to push the point total to 50 and over as time expired.
Good luck to all the NFL teams and players this week and especially good luck to all the bettors!
- Buffalo Bills +2.5 at New York Jets (O/U is 43)
The Thursday night game this week looks to be a good one as the Buffalo Bills are a 2.5 point underdog playing the New York Jets in New Jersey. Can Rex Ryan spring the upset over his old team and get revenge this week? Usually you are better off taking the more motivated team each week. Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is 38-58-1 as a starting NFL QB.
- Detroit +11.5 at Green Bay (O/U is 48)
What’s happened to the Packers? The team has now lost two games in a row after going 6-0. The answer is that the Packers played two undefeated teams over the last two weeks after beating six teams with combined records of 19-31.
- Dallas Cowboys +1.5 at Tampa Bay (O/U is 43.5)
The Dallas Cowboys are in free-fall mode without Tony Romo as they’ve lost six straight games. Romo will return next week but this week it’s another game with Matt Cassel at QB. Cassel is now 34-41 as a NFL starting QB but he’s just 24-36 without Bill Belichick coaching him. Despite all that the Cowboys could actually win this week.
- Dolphins +6.5 at Eagles (O/U is 47)
Remember when the Dolphins fired Joe Philbin and Dan Campbell took over and led the team to two straight wins and Miami was supposedly turned around? The Dolphins have since lost two straight games and are sitting at 3-5 on the season. Sam Bradford is 4-4 with the Eagles this season but his career record in the NFL is just 22-34-1. Ryan Tannehill is 26-30 but at least he has a hot blonde wife.
- Saints -1 at Redskins (O/U is 50.5)
The Washington Redskins are a home underdog this week vs Drew Brees and the Saints. Hard to bet the Redskins, though, with Kirk Cousins as their QB because his lifetime record in the NFL is just 5-12. Drew Brees lifetime record is 121-88.
- Browns +4.5 at Steelers (O/U is 41)
The Browns have announced that Josh McCown will start this week vs the Steelers if he’s healthy enough. Ben Roethlisberger has not been ruled out of this game. To make a bet on the game you really have to know if Big Ben will start or not. Or you could just bet against a QB with a lifetime record of 18-38 which is Josh McCown if he starts.
- Panthers -4.5 at Titans (O/U is 43)
The Titans pulled a big upset last week to beat the Saints on the road with Marcus Mariota playing great at QB. Mariota is only 2-4 this season with the Titans but the kid has shown plenty of talent. Can the Titans pull off this upset and take down the undefeated Panthers? Possible but shouldn’t the odds be a little higher than 4.5 points to take the risk?
- Bears +7.5 at Rams (O/U is 42.5)
Gunslinging Jay Cutler led the Bears to a thrilling come from behind 22-19 win over the Chargers on Monday night. Cutler is not a great QB but because of his arm you always have to give him a punchers chance. What can you say about the Rams after they lost in OT to the Vikings? At least Nick Foles is 19-13 as a starting QB in the NFL.
- Jaguars +5.5 at Ravens (O/U is 48)
Would anybody say that Blake Bortles is making progress as a NFL QB? He’s now 5-16 as a starting NFL QB but at least he’s throwing more TDs than picks this season by a decent margin (17 to 10). If the Ravens win this game they could actually make a playoff run even though they are 2-6 because their next few games are not that tough.
- Vikings +3.5 at Raiders (O/U is 43)
Bet against Teddy Bridgewater at your own risk. The guy has a knack for winning games and he’s now 12-8 as a NFL starting QB. You have to wonder about the Raiders after Ben Roethlisberger left the game last week and they let Landry Jones beat them.
- Chiefs +6.5 at Broncos (O/U is 42)
The Broncos lost for the first time last week to the Colts. Once again, Peyton Manning did not look great as he threw two picks and only completed 58% of his passes. It’s tough to ever bet against Peyton Manning but the desperate Chiefs might be up to the task this week.
- Patriots -7 at New York Giants (O/U is 55)
Can the New York Giants knock the Patriots from the ranks of the undefeated this week? Tom Coughlin and Eli Manning have a long history as coach and QB of being pretty good bets when they are underdogs vs familiar foes. This is a good game to see just how good the Patriots are this season.
- Cardinals +3 at Seattle (O/U is 44.5)
This is a big game for these two NFC West teams. A Seahawks win gets them right back into the race for the division title while a Cardinals win cements their lead over Seattle. Carson Palmer is 22-8 as the Cardinals starting QB while Russell Wilson is 40-16 for the Seahawks. Two good teams dueling it out this week.
- Texans +11 at Bengals (O/U is 47.5)
The Texans are a big 11 point underdog to knock the Bengals from the ranks of the undefeated this week playing on the road in Cincinnati. The Texans have not been good this season but maybe they will be fired up enough for this Monday night game to make it interesting and possibly even beat the Bengals in a big upset.
