It was billed as “A Night To Remember” and lived up to its name on Sunday, September 27 at Word of Grace Worship Center in Waldorf, MD. Hosted by Stellar Award-winning Gospel announcer and Program Director Tracy Morgan, the concert featured Wondrous World Records newcomer Whitney Curry and her group Anointed, Restine Jackson and Darrell Brown.
The room was packed and the most size of the sanctuary lent itself to a more intimate experience. The proximity of the stage gave way to a palpable sense of oneness with the musical expressions.
The night kicked off with Darrell Brown who gave a high energy performance and performed his single “Because you’re Worthy,” slated for release this Friday, October 2. The dynamic house band kicked into high gear and ushered in a time of exuberant praise. In fact the band was first rate throughout the night and punctuated each interlude with pulsating sounds.
Restine Jackson came to the stage and told the crowd that he believed he believed in corporate praise and wanted them to be engaged. He blessed the crowd with several songs, including his current single, “Nobody.”
The night gave way to newcomer Whitney Curry who demonstrated why she has decided to step out on the musical scene. The singer delivered powerful performances including her debut single, “Come Fill This House” which demonstrated her extensive vocal skills. Her performance seems to be a real indicator of her ability to take her musical gifts and expand her presence on the gospel scene over time.
Wondrous World Records was started in 1998 by the late Bishop Restine T. Jackson III, the father of Whitney Curry and Restine Jackson. As the duo continues to pursue musical excellence it is obvious they are honoring the legacy their father left behind.
