You can use each recipe for fudge, ice cream toppings, shakes and malts, besides just frosting cakes. Homemade from natural ingredients makes frosting fresh and delicious. Chocolate Cream Cheesecake Frosting recipe: Not just cream cheese frosting but cream cheesecake with chocolate: this frosting is addictive. You will find your family eating it out of the bowl and fighting each other for the last bite. So make a large batch of this recipe and use cream cheesecake frosting for cakes and cookies. You need:
8 ounce package of softened cream cheese (dieters, use Neufchatel because it has less fat and all the great taste)
one stick real salted butter, softened
one to two pounds powdered confectioner’s sugar (also called 10x sugar)
pure vanilla extract
dark chocolate chips
Set out butter and cream cheese and allow to warm to room temperature. In a blender or food processor, cream butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add 1.5 teaspoons pure vanilla and half a teaspoon salt and blend. Add powdered sugar gradually as frosting is mixing. Add sugar to taste. Cream cheesecake frosting is best about10 steps down on the sweetness scale from traditional cream cheese frosting. Fold in chocolate chips at the last minute. Add more sugar for fudge and allow to harden. Add less sugar for icing or cream topping.
Mocha Truffle Fudge Frosting recipe
one stick butter
one half cup to 3/4 cup Hershey’s unsweetened baking cocoa or two squares melted Baker’s chocolate. Don’t skimp on the cocoa or buy cheap brands. You don’t save much money but you often lose a great deal on taste.
one teaspoon pure vanilla
half teaspoon salt
two-three tablespoons cold fresh brewed coffee (no instant, decaffeinated, etc.)
one pound confectioner’s (10x) sugar
Mix butter in blender or with hand mixer until creamy. Add vanilla, salt, cocoa and sugar (slowly). Adjust sugar and to taste. If you like chocolate so dark and bittersweet that it nips at your heels, this is for you. Add chocolate chips if desired. Thin to icing consistency and dip Oreo or butter cookies in frosting.
Turtle Chocolate-Caramel Latte Frosting recipe
In a medium saucepan melt one stick butter, two cup brown sugar (organic Florida Crystals or Sucanat works great), one can evaporated milk, one half teaspoon salt and one teaspoon vanilla. Stir over low heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar to until frosting of spreadable consistency. This frosting is delicious spread on butter cake. Add chocolate chips, butterscotch morsels and fresh chopped pecans for turtle goodness.
Reese’s-Hershey’s-M&Ms Fudge Frosting: Blend half a stick butter, 1 cup creamy peanut butter and powdered sugar to peanut butter cup flavor. Spread frosting on cake. Melt chocolate chips or Hershey’s Kisses and pour over the top till hard. Decorate with colored M&Ms before completely cool.
