Do you like to play dirty? Is rolling around and getting covered in mud your idea of a good way to spend a Saturday? Well, if you said, “Yes” to either of those questions then here is an event for you. Just make plans to register and take part in Mudathlon taking place at the Niederman Family Farm in Liberty Township on Saturday, August 1.
A most unique event, Mudathlon is a mud soaked adventure that lets its participants tackle more than 40 challenging obstacles over a 3 mile course where mud is the key ingredient. With names like the Mucking Mud Pit, Tunnel of Terror, Tire Tussle, Muddy Crawl, Cricked Creek Crossing, Slippery Slope and the Cargo Cling & Climb, just some of the obstacles that participants will encounter are a 100 yard mucking mud pit that is sure to suck your shoes off and a 75-100 foot adventure slide that sends you into a muddy pit.
The Top Mudathlete Award will be given to the top three overall male and female winners based on times completing the course. You can compete as an individual or as a team. You must be at least 12 years of age to participate in the main Mudathlon. However, there will also be a Kids Obstacle Course available for children 4-11 that includes 10 age-appropriate muddy obstacles over a quarter mile course. All participating children will receive a medal. Cost for the Kids Obstacle course is $10.
When Mudathlon is over, never fear, there are plenty of showers available to clean off the mud that is sure to be sticking all over your body. You should still bring a towel and a change of clothing. Make sure you stick around for all the post Mudathlon activities including food. Buffalo Wild Wings will be giving each Mudathlon participants 6 free chicken wings. There will also be free live musical entertainmen
Here are some of the rules for Mudathlon. Participants are forbidden to consume any alcohol until after the race. Participants must wear their race bib at all times while on the course.
