The MTV VMA 2015 live stream and TV schedule brings forth the latest installment of the annual video music awards Sunday night with Miley Cyrus hosting. This year’s show will also feature Kanye West receiving the coveted “Video Vanguard” award for his body of work, while Taylor Swift has the chance to leave with a lot more statues to add to her growing collection of awards. Thanks to live streaming online access and TV coverage, viewers will catch it all tonight on MTV, including possible controversial moments.
According to MTV.com in their Aug. 29 report, tonight’s show brings with it exclusive all-access backstage footage online. Among the featured footage will be “extended set” from various performers, host Miley Cyrus and multiple cameras from around the venue. There will also be un-aired audience shots and as promised via MTV and Pepsi, “bonus performances on an exclusive camera stream.” That brings plenty of entertainment for viewers to enjoy Sunday night.
So who are some of the biggest nominees that may become VMA winners for 2015? Pop queen Taylor Swift has a total of 10 nominations heading into tonight’s show including Video of the Year for “Bad Blood” and Best Female Video for “Blank Space.” Hip hop star Kendrick Lamar has four nominations for his video “Alright,” and he appears in several other nominated videos, those by Swift and Flying Lotus. Video of the year nominees include Beyonce, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” Lamar for “Alright”, Mark Ronson (featuring Bruno Mars) for “Uptown Funk” and Swift featuring Lamar for “Bad Blood.”
Singer Beyonce is up for a variety of awards for “7/11,” while Nicki Minaj is up for a few different awards including Best Hip Hop Video for “Anaconda,” and Best Collaboration for “Bang Bang” along with Jessie J and Ariana Grande. There’s a category this year for Best Video With a Social Message and nominees will include Big Sean (featuring Kanye West and John Legend), Colbie Caillat, Jennifer Hudson, Rihanna and Wale. The category allowed fans to vote online after it was unveiled over a week ago.
In terms of VMA performers, this year’s show spares no expense when it comes to the musicians invited to play live. They’ll include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Weeknd, Demi Lovato, Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, Twenty One Pilots, Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber. In particularly, there are likely to be plenty of viewers watching for Bieber’s new hit song “What Do You Mean,” as well as to see if any special guests pop up on stage during other performances.
Sunday night’s “All-access” MTV VMA 2015 live coverage will begin as early as 6 p.m. EST with the live stream at MTV’s website. The video music awards show television coverage starts on MTV at 8 p.m. EST with the pre-show and then goes live at 9 p.m. EST with the official awards show.
