Michael Martin Murphey is coming to the Odessa for his ‘Cowboy Christmas’ music show. Some of the music that will be played at the event is cowboy songs dating back to the 1800’s.
The event will take place at the Ector Theatre on December 8th. Music starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $35.
According to Casey Dennis from the Odessa American, ‘Murphey’s traveling show incorporates large screens to show the landscapes of Texas and art from famed painter Kenneth Wyatt’s winter scenes.’
On his official website there is information about how the ‘Cowboy Christmas’ show got started and how the singer tours during this time of year to share the music he is so fond of.
Michael Martin Murphey became well known in the early 1970’s with songs such as, “Wildfire” and “Carolina In The Pines” and Rolling Stone magazine mentioned him as being ‘the best songwriter around for that time period.’ In his career he has topped many charts and won several awards.
