For all working professionals in Miami, take a trip to the beautiful Brickell Financial District in Miami and invest in a custom tailored suit from Chad Johnson and Timothy Brown. The rest of the nation knows them and they fit many men and women into suits, suit separates, shirts and blouses that make one feel comfortable enough to be the best they can be. The immense fashion stores at the malls in the Miami-Dade area could be avoided for once and pre-cut, pre-patterned suits and shirts can be left to another once one feels the delight of a suit or shirt made to his or her body measurements. They were gracious enough to sit again and answer questions for atombash.com:
Eric L. Labrador: Is JohnsonBrün a “brick and mortar” establishment or is it similar to zTailors (online appointments)?
Timothy Brown/Chad Johnson: We’re not a traditional “brick and mortar” nor similar to zTailors, although we do offer services as both. We are personal concierge tailors and our services are more individualized. Our clients have the choice of either coming to use at our atelier or having us come to them. However, our consultations are not limited to just home or office. We have been known to do consultations and fittings in some of the most non-conventional settings–parking lots, airports and even backstage at events the client is attending, i.e., Wherever is more convenient to the client and there personal needs.
EL: How did two former NFL wide receivers (same names as #81 Tim Brown, L.A. Raiders, #85 Chad Johnson, Cinncinatti Bengals) come together to create this business (joking)–Please describe the events to bring together JohnsonBrün?
TB/CJ: Lol, well after years of play and the fluctuations in weight between seasons, we both agreed having a personal on retainer to make adjustments on specific wardrobe pieces or to even create custom pieces would be beneficial. After all, the camera is always on and we should always look our best, Lol. Ironically, that’s true for bringing JohnsonBrün together–with our vast backgrounds in luxury retail and twenty plus years of tailoring, we saw a need in the market which we have both the knowledge and resources to fill.
EL: Would regular working professionals in the Miami/South Florida area be able to afford a custom tailored suit?
TB/CJ: Yes. We started this company as and for the regular working professionals, both men and women. There’s a belief that in order to look your best in clothes, you have to spend tons of money and although we like that line of thought, it’s not true. We offer expert tailoring and custom garment construction to accommodate any client budget and need. A nicely tailored piece from your own closet is just as impactful as a nicely tailored $60,000 vicuna custom piece. Again our company and services are individualized and specific depending on the client’s budget and needs.
EL: Does JohnsonBrün create custom tailored shirts and pants?
TB/CJ: Yes. We create custom everything. Our entire structure is built on us being a “one stop” experience for our clients. The resources we’ve gained through years in the industry helps us to fulfill any and all of our clients’ clothing and accessory needs, whether a new suit for work or shorts and a dope tee for a boating trip.
EL: Many men feel that suits are “only for work”. Can you talk about the need for a man’s wardrobe to have a classic staple like a suit (blazer, linen suit) for other occassions?
TB/CJ: Humans are visual, i.e., we believe what we see, and typically the way you dress is how people will receive and treat you. Your personal style is a visual representation of who you are, so why not go the extra mile to assure the first impression is the best. If you’re not a fan of “the suit” or feel it’s a “9 to 5” uniform, play with it till you find what works. A tailored blazer and fitted jeans can go a long way, even a nice linen suit with a casual shoe (pair of chucks) can give you a cleaner, more distinguished look while keeping you casually cool (not feeling like your headed into a boardroom). Plus, I’ve read that a tailored suit is to women, what lingerie is to men…true statement fellas.
