Donald Trump has dominated the political airwaves over the last month following his presidential announcements, and now is leading or virtually tied with Jeb Bush in many national polls. Yesterday, Trump gave another controversial speech on immigration, promising to charge the Mexican government for illegal immigrants who cross the border and doubling down on his claims about Mexican immigrants. Trump has certainly garnered supports from conservatives with his rhetoric, but as pointed out on Meet the Press yesterday, Trump was not always so conservative in his positions.
The clip above from Meet the Press lasts just a little over two minutes. It documents the shifting positions of Trump over the years with the following quotes from Trump himself. The video segment immediately drew the ire of Trump, who went on a rant against Meet the Press and Chuck Todd personally via Twitter after the video was released.
On Hillary Clinton
“I think Hillary would be a terrible President. She was the worst Secretary of State in the history of our nation.”
– Trump on July 8, 2015
“Hillary Clinton I think is a terrific woman. I mean I a little bit bias I think because I have known her for years.” When asked if he supported Clinton, “I don’t want to get into this because I will get myself in trouble. I just like her. I like her, and I like her husband.”

On President Obama
“Some people say he is incompetent. I would not say that, eh, yes I would.”

– Trump in 2010
On Health Care
“They [the Republicans] have to toughen up on Obamacare which is a total lie, and which is a total and complete disaster.”

Describing himself “Very pro-choice. I hate the concept of abortion. Hate it, hate what it stand for. I cringe when I hear people debating the subject. But you still, I just believe in choice.”

These sound clips, particularly the one on abortion, will likely be used against Trump moving forward if he continues to poll strong against his Republican rivals in the coming months.
