It seems that some children of celebrities have unusual names these days. Matthew McConaughey’s older brother Michael, known as Rooster, gave his son a name that people still can’t stop talking about even though his son is now nine years old, according to Esquire on Tuesday.
Rooster was given a special gift from a well-known company for naming his son what he did. Rooster is a self-made millionaire so he could afford what he was given as a result of his son’s name. However, he is enjoying the gift anyway. Rooster named his son Miller Lyte after his favorite beer. He did change the spelling in his middle name with a “y” to make it a little different.
TMZ reported that Miller’s parent company SABMiller found out about the branded name only recently. Since the name is free advertising for Miller Lite, the company gave Rooster a year supply, or 24 cases, or 576 cans of beer. That means Rooster can drink a can and a half per day. Since Rooster is a Miller Lite superfan, the cans of beer might not last a year because Rooster always has a can in his hand, even on his new reality series “West Texas Investors Club.”
Miller Lyte might seem like an odd name for a boy, but because of his father’s love for the brew, the child’s name isn’t that strange after all. Every time Rooster calls his son Miller Lyte, it probably makes him want a Miller Lite. When people ask Miller Lyte if he is named after the beer, he responds by saying, “No, the beer is named after me,” according to Rooster. Would you ever name your child after a product?
