Fans of “Married at First Sight” have not recovered from the shocking results of Season 2. The two networks, A&E and FYI, that aired the reality show are concerned about the future of “Married at First Sight” because of the controversies surrounding the outcome of Season 2. The televised social experiment reality show currently is in limbo, according to Christian Today on July 15.
The first season of “Married at First Sight” was successful. It ended with two of the three couples staying married and are still doing well long after they were matched together and married each other the moment they met at the altar. Unlike Season 1, all three participant couples in Season 2 ended up divorced after the finale.
Davina Kullar and Sean Varricchio announced during the last show that they were ending their marriage. Viewers were not surprised when they mutually agreed to divorce. The other two couples said they wanted to try to make their marriage work, but after the cameras stopped rolling, they also decided to file for divorce.
Jessica Castro and Ryan De Nino argued throughout the series, and it was only toward the end they were able to communicate. During the finale, they said they were staying together, but six months later at the reunion they said they were divorcing. After the reunion show, De Nino threatened Castro and her family. She had a restraining order issued against him.
Jaclyn Methuen and Ryan Ranellone said they were divorcing during the reunion episode of the show. The experts talked them into giving it a second chance even though they were no longer living in the same house, and Ryan said he did not have any feelings for his wife. They both told the cameras they wanted to give their relationship a second chance, but Jaclyn announced through her Twitter account that the marriage was going nowhere and they decided to ultimately divorce.
Ecumenical News reported that viewers of the reality series are anxious to find out if “Married at First Sight” will continue. Even though an official announcement about Season 3 has not been made, it doesn’t look very promising. Besides, A&E and FYI are in hot water for not conducting thorough background checks on the participants before matching them up to be married at first sight.
If the reality show is renewed, some viewers said they will no longer watch the series. If “Married at First Sight” is canceled, would you be disappointed? If “Married at First Sight” is renewed for a third season, will you watch it?
