Terrapin Beer Co. (Athens, Georgia) plans to release Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler Imperial Farmhouse Ale in June as the next offering in their highly sought-after Reserve Series.
For the first ever summer release in Terrapin’s Reserve Series, the brewery is reinventing their seasonal Maggie’s Peach Farmhouse Ale by trading in the peaches for blackberries and amping things up a bit in the creation of Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler. This Imperial Farmhouse Ale also adds graham crackers to the recipe to replicate all of the classic notes of a homemade cobbler. The final product is a dessert beer that is sure to please on any summer evening in the South. For more information on this offering, here’s the full label description of Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler:
Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler Imperial Farmhouse Ale is made with fresh blackberries and graham crackers for a taste you won’t soon forget. Reminiscent of the smell in Granny’s kitchen on a Sunday afternoon, this beer is liquid dessert for any home-cooked meal. ABV – 8.55% IBUs – 22 OG – 17.5
Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler is slated for release in early June and will be available in wax dipped 22 oz. bombers. This offering will be available in extremely limited quantities throughout Terrapin’s distribution footprint. For those of you who cannot wait until June for some Farmhouse Ale action from Terrapin, worry not because Maggie’s Peach Farmhouse Ale, the brewery’s summer seasonal, is available now on draft and in six-packs of 12 oz. cans. It also might be worth picking up some Maggie’s Peach to explore and compare to the imperialized Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler when it is released. Keep an eye out for both of these offerings this summer. Prost!
