Investigators say Madeleine McCann is ruled out as the victim of human remains found in a suitcase in Australia. The decomposed body of a young girl were located earlier this month near South Australia’s capital, Adelaide. 43 children in all have been ruled out as the victim in the murder investigation, South Australia Police Detective Police Superintendent, Des Bray, says.
ABC News reports that Bray has confirmed that the remains aren’t McCann’s. He says: “I can confirm that Madeleine McCann has been totally excluded as a potential victim and UK police have been advised.”
McCann went missing on a family vacation in Portugal when she was 3-years-old in 2007. She’s never been found and no solid leads have been made themselves present for detectives to work with. A lot of possible clues have emerged, but the case of Madeleine McCann has been ruled out in almost every single one of them.
It’s believed that the remains found in Australia belong to a fair-haired girl aged between 2-and-a-half and 4-years-old who may have been dead up to eight years.
